Wouldn’t it be cool if you could see an artist’s entire tour history or a list of all the gigs that a legendary venue has ever hosted. Two years ago, Ian Hogarth, Pete Smith, and Michelle You founded songkick.com with the goal of building the world’s definitive live music resource. They’ve since amassed data on over 1 million gigs, to which concertgoers are now adding posters, photos, videos, setlists and reviews. Users can share their personal gigography of every gig they’ve ever been to – and see who else was there. You can track your favorite Artists, Venues, Festivals and Concert Buddies – and be notified when they have upcoming events. Songkick indexes major ticket outlets across the Englishspeaking world – and if gigs by your own favourite artists (past & present) aren’t listed, you can add them yourself. All of which is why, for musicians, promoters and gig goers alike – and for obsessive collectors of music memorabilia everywhere – we made songkick.com a 6 Music Introducing Website Of The Week

Tom – thanks so much for making us a 6 Music Introducing site of the week! Really glad you’re enjoying Songkick, let me know if you’d ever like to hear more of the story behind the company.

Thanks again for covering our site.

I wonder why no credit is given by Songkick for information ripped off from other sites such as http://www.chickeonaunicycle.com? Prosopographers and the like have worked long and hard in gathering and authenticating concert dates and details – if folk such as Songkick are simply going to use the work of others, at least they should have the courtesy to say where the information comes from – even if they cannot bring themselves to ask permission to use it.
