Six BBC Introducing Losers

BBC Introducing

Here are 6 great tracks – sent to our Fresh On The Net inbox last week – that I adored, even though there wasn’t room to include them on our Listening Post. I earmarked every one of them for airplay on my BBC Introducing Mixtape. But guess what. Five of them hadn’t uploaded the tunes to BBC Introducing. I’ve said it before, let’s say it again:

NO UPLOAD = NO AIRPLAY

Each week  I have to pick roughly 16 tracks for the Mixtape out of the hundreds people send me every week. If your song isn’t in the BBC system when I go looking for it, you’ve missed the boat – because by next week there’ll be another couple of hundred tracks to choose from.

One band DID upload their song – but with a great big F-bomb seven seconds in, ruining an otherwise perfect radio track. As one of my BBC Introducing colleagues wrote next to it in our internal system: “Contains fuck. Duh.”
