JOY ATLAS – Notice It All [starts 04:21]
“Hot on the heels of their debut single Dismount – which tickled the fancy of pop fans and tastemakers alike, including Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson – Notice It All is a beaming proclamation of a band who have quickly become adept at making unexpected pop music that is resplendent with melodic hooks, fresh lyrical finery, and glitch electronica. They describe themselves as making neon lit, radiant, angular pop music. Joy Atlas is singer Beccy Owen, keyboard/synth player Adam Kent, bassist Ian ‘Dodge’ Paterson and drummer Ged Robinson. The single, Notice It All, is released digitally on the 27th of Nov 2015. Upcoming live shows are planned for December and a 3rd single in the New Year.”
PERHAPS CONTRAPTION – Lay Low [starts 05:58]
“Perhaps Contraption; a 9-piece, art rock, punk jazz, brass band from London. Part chamber orchestra, part choir, part experimental marching band; they sound something like Frank Zappa meeting Sufjan Stevens in a twisted fairground. Astonishing and intense. After a busy summer; winning the 10th edition of The Haizetara International Street Music competition, playing with Amanda Palmer and touring Italy, USA’s activist street band festival HONK, and various UK festivals, they will be releasing their next album Mud Belief in Spring 2016. Upcoming show supporting Moonhooch as part of the London Jazz Festival, at the Garage, Islington, on November 20th. Here’s the video for Lay Low https://youtu.be/jvMLkEEtFuE

“They told us we could fly. Then that they’d lied. But we try all the same.” The Woods is the music of Scottish singer-songwriter Johnny McFadzean. “Honest, soaring, his haunting voice strips back the everyday to expose its raw beauty, with songs that hook your ear around corners you didn’t see coming. Authentic new music that must be heard live, The Woods debut EP The Start is out now. The song Lost Your Crown is about really messing up.” The Woods will be supporting C Duncan in December in Aberdeen (3rd Dec) & Edinburgh (4th Dec).

CRAIG ELLIOTT – Hole In The Wall Gang [starts 15:40]
“Craig Elliott is a solo musician hailing from Wellington, New Zealand. Since relocating to the Northern Hemisphere Craig has self-released two bedroom-recorded EPs of hyperactive noise-pop. In March 2014 Craig released the Au Revoir Psycho EP (frenzied, loud, invigorating, like getting punched in the face with a waterfall (literally); a soundtrack to running around the lounge, dizzy from too much sugar, and then falling asleep on the carpet with a stomach ache), and a year later followed it up with the Evil Billet-Doux EP (envisioned, conceptually, as “more of the same but a bit longer”). In May 2015 Craig joined the roster of UK-based/NZ-born label Muzai Records, through which he will be reissuing these EPs as the Abandoned Theme Park Double EP in cassette and digital formats in November 2015.”
CORINNA JANE – Floodlights [starts 17:30]
“Corinna Jane is a Franco-British singer-songwriter born in Germany, but did most of her growing up in Northamptonshire. Fed on a diet of 90s MTV, her biggest passion has always been pop music describing her own sound as piano driven alternative pop-rock. Having gigged extensively across the UK at various festivals and venues, Corinna now releases her latest four track EP/album sampler Hard In Love available to download and stream now across all digital platforms and will be touring in 2016 with her band.”
BLUE JOHN vs SKY MOUSE – Last of the Music Hall Comedians [starts 22:00]
“A space mouse and an amateur human. Bio or Non-bio: that is the question. They are Sky Mouse and Blue-John Benjamin from North Yorkshire’s unexplored darknesses. Their song Last of the Music Hall Comedians will be free to download from Bandcamp on 23rd October 2015.”
KATIE AND I – Quicksand [starts 24:38]
“An alternate blend of acoustic folk, intimate vocals and harmonies meet to create the artist Katie and I. Based in Liverpool, Katie and Lewis met at university and soon realised that their voices and friendship combined to make the interesting songwriting duo. Currently preparing for a debut EP release in late November, they are set to embark on an acoustic living room tour spread across two weekends in six locations… more details will follow in the next couple of weeks. Over the coming year, Katie and I are looking to expand their live performances with support and festival slots and some new music too! This is just the beginning of an exciting new artist. All social media and music links can be found on our website, alongside a secret video (see if you can find it).”

Their music leads the listener through a lush soundscape of musical journeys, from Chill to High-Energy; in places, delightfully bonkers.”
JONAS CARPING – The Last Approval [starts 35:59]
“Jonas Carping is an independent artist and songwriter who just released his second album Cocktails and Gasoline. Inspiration stretches from Leonard Cohen to Noel Gallagher through The National to Neil Young. The Last Approval is the main single from Cocktails and Gasoline. The songs were all recorded in a cabin in the outback of the countryside. This was done to preserve the the vast feeling of the wastelands. But also do that and still keep the highest quality of sound possible. Out in the wastelands there is both time and space to really be captured by the essence in making music. Soul. Currently Jonas Carping is planning the upcoming tour for the new album.”
YOUEL – Lifeline [starts 40:28]
“Youel are an electronica/indie trio – with a healthy side of pop. Soul baring vocals and honest, poetic lyrics, are coupled with danceable, uplifting production. Think Robyn meets Lana Del Rey- on a night out with Lykke Li. The band got together at Royal Holloway University thanks to front-woman Viv’s careful stalking of talented musicians on campus; and they are now working with London producer Ennisy on their next EP, which they are releasing independently this winter. MY BABY – Remedy II [starts 47:00]
“It hasn’t taken long for Amsterdam based psychedelic/shamanic/folk/rock trio My Baby’s swampy blues, roots and funk inflected sound to cast a formidable spell. Over the past 12 months, brother-sister-duo Joost (drums) and Cato van Dyke (vocals) plus faithful guitarist Daniel “daFreez” Johnston have had their mojo working overtime; after a UK tour with Seasick Steve, who has appraised their unique approach, and a release of their second album “Shamanaid’, MY BABY has been spreading their mesmerizing live act to the approval of audiences worldwide; featuring on renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Sziget and Lowlands. My Baby’s new single Remedy II is a newly re-recorded alternative version of the track originally found on their debut album Shamanaid. It’s a sound inspired by old blues and folk music, but played with the rawness of sixties and seventies soul and funk and an edgy trance like infusion of west African desert blues, Moroccan gnawa, Indian ragas and dance music of all forms has helped to shape their sound. My Baby are on their biggest headline tour yet across the UK and Europe. All dates on the website.”

“Ruinz Ason is back with Music 4 Weirdos, the follow up single to this summer’s Here and Now which was supported by BBC Radio 6 Music as well as live headline slots in London and Berlin, Germany. Music 4 Weirdos is just what it says on the tin, unconventional music for unconventional people, or just about anybody who dares to be different! ASON Raps in unapologetic rhetoric, “I don’t make music for the radio, I don’t make Music for the video I make music for Weirdos!” Featuring young Rapper 8TRED and produced by his brother and long time collaborator J-Flames, Music 4 Weirdos once again sees these 2 non-conformist brothers taking inspiration from just about anywhere in the cosmos and totally twisting it into what they Psychedelic Trap/Hiphop. If you don’t like this track consider yourself Normal!”
DEUX FURIEUSES – Can We Talk About This (Feral Five Remix) [starts 56:29]
