A Tune On The Tour

Tom Robinson tour dates

I’m currently halfway through a solo acoustic tour of the UK – on which fellow FOTN moderator Benji Tranter is looking after backline and merchandise for us. On Saturday night our entire touring party of ended up sitting around in the rather unwelcoming lobby of a hotel on the outskirts of Selby called The Wishing Well.

The night manager was a bit surly and unhelpful, but at least he allowed us to bring in our own beer and pizza for a post-gig meal. Later on, Benji got out my little Larivee guitar and entertained the revellers in our party with his latest – and finest – composition: Your Heart Is Like Your Handbag. This video by Kate De Ban caught the moment – hope you enjoy it as much as we did…

Full blurb about the Home In The Morning tour: “An evening with songwriter, activist and raconteur Tom Robinson telling the stories behind songs such as Glad To Be Gay, Up Against The Wall, Martin, 2-4-6-8 Motorway, War Baby, Bully ForYou, Atmospherics: Listen To The Radio, Power In The Darkness etc. Plus various encounters along the way with Elton John, Ray Davies, Peter Gabriel, Eddy Grant, Pink Floyd, HM Inland Revenue and The Sunday People.
