Truly enlightening. I blagged a slot at a festival going onstage just before Show Of Hands in 2007. I wish I had had the bottle to talk to them as I may have learned a lot. A lot of busking and scraping by has happened between then and reading this.
It’s like you just switched a light on in my head so thank you for a great interview.

I’m a late finder/fan of SoH. A most interesting article. I’ve been playing acoustic guitar for about 40 odd years and only now I am considering a step into professionalism following some prods from US friends and blues-picking mentors. Gave me something to chew over. Thanks.

I remember a Phil Beer solo record released around the time I was five (my dad played it lots), then seeing him in the Albion Band, and then in a band called “Tickled Pink”. This has been lovely to read, as it fills in blanks between my childhood and now!
