What's With All This NorthWalesLinks Stuff?...

Hi Tom, I found your entry about The Hero Myth interesting thus I've added a Trackback to it on my weblog :)... Folks have asked me why I’m developing NorthWalesLinks.co.uk with such vigour, running a Twitter campaign and Facebook and posting random trackbacks on other people's blogs.

Those who know me will know I speak from the heart when I say this. Putting my grudges against radio aside, I found that by paying more attention to the site and by publishing articles that are positive for the communities in the six counties of North Wales I was having a buzz. Just like researching interviewees for BBC Radio Clwyd used to be a buzz back in the early 80?s.

On the other hand your article doesn't have any connection with North Wales, so I haven't in fact mentioned or linked to it on my own site. But I thought I'd leave my URL on your blog anyway just to help give me a bit of free publicity and boost my rankings in Google.

Hope you don't think I'm being cheeky or anything...

All the best,

Roy Norry

I dread to think what else is in your music collection if both Razorlight and Busted are your points of reference…

Clearly you haven't seen this band live.

I've followed this band for quite a while now and it has been a joy to see them grow as a collective over such a short space of time. I’ve seen them live a few times over the last year in London (friends of mine saw them in Manchester at the Roadhouse and said the gig was excellent) and I was there for their performance at Glastonbury this year. Glastonbury was clearly the culmination of a lot of hard work and a display of their ever-increasing musical maturity, confidence and intelligence.

I feel it’s a bit misguided to equate a regional accent denoting any more credibility, unaffectedness or charm.

Also, an Ivor Novello nomination isn’t something to be sniffed at given the list of its former nominees and its panel!

Sorry but that's absolute garbage. Yet another group of big haired sloaney posh boys signed up for their "teeny girls will love us" looks and singing cringeworthy sub-Razorlight rubbish with their unbearable Hampstead inflections.

Seriously, if you want us to take you seriously, don't big up 'bands' that are basically like a wannabe indie version of Busted.

Happy Birthday. Just added your link to the website www.ukbigpeople.co.uk and it will appear at random with our other banners. Hope it goes well on the night. I was about to dig out some old vinyl and just discovered your music on grooveshark.com.
