These Fresh Faves were picked by our readers over the weekend – and reviewed by BBC Introducing in the West‘s Sam Bonham this week. You can hear all these tracks in a single Soundcloud playlist here.

A great week of music on the Fresh Faves – thanks to everyone who voted. Read to the end if you have time, the music gets better and better. Oh, and if you don’t have time, bookmark this page and come back when you do have time. Peace, SBx

EMAÉ – Know You

F*** you world, I’m still strong. That’s what Emaé says to me, loud and clear. You see, music can do that. Say something direct, basic and true – especially when you’ve never heard it before. New music just has a certain way of being clearer than the old skool stuff. Emaé is the oldest child in her pride, born in Scotland and training to be a pharmacist. All these things point to her being a strong lady. I’ve not met her yet, but she plays London in the autumn, so maybe I will.

IAMOFFICER – Glass Ceiling Xox

When I heard this tune I think my body became slightly more subtle. You know, softer or something. The oddly titled Glass Ceiling Xox is beautiful and rousing; coloured and bursting with energy. I Am Officer is the second artist on FOTN with Scottish roots. There’s nothing behind that, it’s just a fact (thank you Google)! The debut record, Myriads, comes out at the end of the month and is well-loved by a bunch of blogs including one of my new found faves, The Indiependent.

JUPITER FALLS FT ELIN – Land And Sea

Oh, the talented Steff Lane. Writer of songs. Performer of songs. And mighty fine connoisseur of songs. Eclectic in style and influences, there’s actually only one man behind the music of the original (and best) band known as Jupiter Falls. Steff pulls in vocalists and other performers graciously where appropriate. Elin is on this particular track and I suggest should be on more.

MICHAEL BAKER MUSIC – Emotion Pictures

Michael Baker’s debut record came out earlier this year. I didn’t hear it at the time, but I’ve listened this week. Stunning. The live show sounds impressive too – Michael has taken his rich, smooth and cafinateted vibes around the UK on the Café Nero Tour. Mine’s a cappuccino please!

MYLYRICALMIND – Driven

MLM knows how to conjure magic! It’s stylish, charismatic and growing up fast! With this track Driven, My Lyrical Mind thrashes around in a lush spacey swamp of magic and music for just over three and a half minutes. Not long enough maybe? Well, it definitely leaves me wanting more. And actually, as Tom Robinson has said in previous posts, this’ll help him with radio play.

PANKHABILLI – Come Around

Well, this doesn’t happen very often. FOTN is not first to the finish line. There are plenty of blogs which have beaten us to this Welsh group. TBH, I often find that the Welsh music press does a really great job of singing the praises of their local talent. Big ups t’ya’ll! Pankhabilli make stylish 80s-inspired pop. It’s all fun times and flange for these guys! A very good look!

PRODBEAR – Your Choice

Prodbear has now arrived in your time zone – complete with gizmos, gadgets and perfect poetry. For me this is a real stand out track on this week’s Fresh Faves. Kind of Scroobius-Pip-Meets-Madness, but in a new 2015 kind of way. Wonderful madness. I got my eye on you, boi!

SYKOYA – Closer

This track by Skyoya is wild. Wild in a kind of late autumnal night way, when you’re actually a bit worried that something might happen to you on your way home – gargoyles and trench foot style! The video for this tune is neat and the EP, Here, will be out next month. This is just a taster! Finish what you’ve got and the next course is on the way!

THE GLASS CHILDREN – Undone

And the beat goes on. Pulsate. Pulsate. On and on. This track is as romantic as it is engaging. Wonderful and warm. Undone is available to buy on The Glass Children‘s Bandcamp page – just name your price! A neat post-Radiohead way of dealing with the mess of music consumption! Go Glass Children!

THISISDA – Won’t Change

I’ve been supporting This is DA since day dot on BBC Introducing in the West. I love it. Put my name on his list! This is the second tune to come from David’s latest EP, Based Off Black, which came out last month. Speaking to his management, it sounds like he’ll be off on tour soon. Coooooool!

PS from TR: If you’ve submitted a track that hasn’t made the Listening Post you’re welcome to re-submit it another week. If your music has appeared on the Listening Post but not in our Fresh Faves, feel free to send us an even stronger track another week.

But if we’ve recently featured you in our Fresh Faves – or on my BBC Introducing Mixtape – please wait three months before sending us another track, so we have space to help other deserving artists… For more info see Robinson Has A Good Old Moan.

Great reviews, Sam. It’d be tempting think great tunes would be harder to come by this time of year, but this lot proves that well wrong.
