For those into the uncompromisingly exciting glitch electro and dubstep genres, then taking a break from the big names such as Skrillex, Feed Me, Wolfgang Gartner and Zomboy and instead checking out some more up and coming artists may help with hearing some fresh new sounds!
Jacob Plant struck a chord with a wonderfully tense buildup before a huge and energetic drop (despite the stereotype that electro and dubstep listeners ‘skip to the drop’ and don’t listen to the rest of the track, I really do!) I’m personally a fan of super-compressed and ridiculously ‘loud’ dance tracks. They sound amazing in clubs and means they sound good on any speakers, even tiny laptop speakers. This isn’t a negative!
London-based Jacob has been doing some great and varied remixes for people such as Oh Land and Skepta but also has been collaborating with other up-and-coming producers such as Majestic for his new album which is due out later this year. Definitely one to keep an eye on!
