THIS WEEK:CLARA HILL
Clara Hill is a music artist based in Berlin. For the life of me I can’t remember where I first heard Clara’s music but I do know it was a good day or at least it was a bad day that instantly got better. That the song was called ‘Dawn of a new day’ seemed very apt. With an acoustic heart built by robots there is something blissful & other worldly in this song that I found completely captivating
*To listen to ‘Dawn of a new day’, it is track 2 of the album teaser below and you will know that we at FOTN are not lovers of track/album teasers/clips rather than full tracks. But this is the only place I can find an embed-enabled (part) version of the song and it seemed such a shame to omit it. Please shout if you know where people can listen to the full track .
**And a polite request for new music artists starting out-please make sure (at least some) of your (full) tracks are embed enabled in Soundcloud or Bandcamp if you want us to share what you do. Thanks!
Clara is blessed with a voice that melts into the music & then your consciousness. She has also released 3 wonderful album’s of sweet chilled electronica with a healthy dash of jazz and & has collaborated with an array of fine people
Considering the circles I used to run in I was surprised I was unaware of her back story but her back catalogue is well worth searching out – just search Clara Hill in YouTube and you’ll be chilled out for many an hour.
I am organizing a lot of things around my new album which came out two weeks ago on Tapete records: i am working on a new live show together with Hanno Leichtmann and i am creating a band too, doing rehearsals, giving interviews and … still try to find time to paint pictures.
Being alone in the nature and listening to a blackcap the first time in my life.
People who sacrifice their life for other people – for freedom and peace
Hitler
When other people laugh
I try to do my best in what i love to do (and try to pay my rent with it): doing music, performing, writing. this i what i do now: challenging myself to make music without any limitations. i try to get into open experimentations, authenticity and free development of ideas.
I would like to have my own original hair color back…because i´m already grey.
and another gig, i was singing in Moscow in front of 6000 people-this was an amazing experience.
every phase in life can have different inspirations. currently music wise for me it’s: again boards of canada, broadcast, tim hecker, still linda perhacs, the music by ben frost, the voice experiments by meredith monk, antonio carlos jobim, still nick drake, john cage, talk talk, the mountains and many many more…
