The proposed schedule has not been announced, even to BBC Introducing presenters and staff. But this is their best guess at what’s being planned, and why many of them are about to lose their jobs.
A few of the specifics may be wrong, but this is the overall outline.
Here are the current 32 local shows, the merged shows due to replace them — and the 7 which are being allowed to continue. The changes will begin in August, and roll out over the following months.
All shows will be broadcast live on Thursdays and repeated on Saturdays. In most cases where shows are being merged, the amount of music content being broadcast will be halved.

The flagship programmes in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and on the BBC’s national networks such as Radio 1, 6 Music, 1Xtra and Asian Network will remain unchanged.
