The independent radio production company Somethin’ Else have been commissioned to create a brand new cross-platform project for BBC 6 Music, fusing music with digital content.
The commission – called Now Playing @6Music – will consist of a weekly radio show hosted by Tom Robinson, airing the most shared, recommended and discussed music online and a blog ‘living’ seven days a week online. The show is the first joint commission by BBC 6 Music and BBC Audio and Music Interactive (A&MI) and will track online buzz around “alternative” music to discover the most popular topics and music downloads. Listeners can build playlists and give opinions on tracks via the 6 Music website, and on its Facebook and Twitter pages. We’ll be busy tracking and taking part in a myriad of online music-related conversations, reflecting the music week online, on air.
A&MI managing editor Chris Kimber said, “I want this to be a ground-breaking new show, which is built from the ground up on audience interactivity, rather than bolting it on. Every piece of music will come from the audience and from online music fans – this is music radio 2.0.”
Paul Rodgers, editor, BBC Radio 6 Music added, “This show will build on a dialogue 6 Music already has with its audience and further develop the station as a digital destination.”
Now Playing @6Music launches on Friday April 8 at 7pm.
. . . and please let there be a podcast available internationally. Tom’s current podcast along with some of the other Introducing efforts are bright sparks in my week.
When some one searches for his essential thing, so he/she desires to be available that in detail, therefore that thing is maintained over here.
