This week:ANIMAL NOISE are a 3 piece indie dance band (with a balearic twist) from Colchester, Essex.
We were very lucky to bump into them recently when the band made a rare live appearance back in Colchester at an ‘invite only’ event at the wonderful creative hub that is 15 Queen Street.
They delivered an absolutely mesmerizing set of energetic indie flamenco-fuelled dance pop music that had the audience spellbound.
As a live act they demonstrated a wonderful ability (musically speaking) to grab you by the scruff of the neck and pull you through a hedge arse backwards and then have you thank them for the pleasure. What a massive sound they deliver!

Now bearing in mind that when we saw them they were playing with 2 tiny amps for the guitar & bass and a wooden hand box for drums and absolutely no mics for vocals it was a monumental achievement to get their sound over in such a devastating way.
The 3 members of Animal Noise fuse together really well as a unit with singer/guitarist Josh Sandifer’s left hand working like on its on double money, drummer Jack Gordon getting sounds out of that box of his that would make Steve Gadd proud and bassist Michael Bird sneaking in some cheeky lines that thump, groove & delight in equal measures. Oh and they shout – A LOT!!!
