Six Degrees – Christmas call

Dear bands and readers,

As I wrote last week, I am taking a small rest to continue organizing all the music and videos to be included on this series of articles called Six Degrees.

I will be back on December 25th for a special edition of the section. On that day I would like to include Christmas songs from the participant bands (bands that have participated on any listening batch).

Do you want to collaborate? Here is a list of the material that you can submit for this special edition of Six Degrees:

Songs on Soundcloud: Any Christmas song (new or old one) that you want to share with us on that day. Or any other song that you think that the lyrics or the thematic is good for the occasion, covers, etc.

Videos: Any music video, acoustic performance, home music video made for Christmas or that could be used on Christmas.  Again, it could be just a song with a Christmas spirit.

Messages on YouTube: If you don’t have any song, but you want to send us a message recorded with a home video, you can also submit us that. Your band saying hello, this would be a nice gift for all of our readers, the people that vote every weekend and the people that we make this blog.

Pictures: Maybe you just have a picture, photography, illustration that you once made for Christmas and you want to share with us. Or a message for us painted in a paper, a Christmas card from your kids, or just something that you did with your computer and you are really proud of it 😉

How to submit: the best way for me to receive and organise everything is through the Six Degrees Facebook page I use to follow all the bands HERE. Just post the link of your track, video, picture, or upload your image there. But you don’t need to follow that page, please follow the official one of Fresh On The Net. We can use mine just to leave the official one clean and make sure that I receive your submissions.

Please submit your material before December 23.

How I will organise your postsI won’t select what you send to me. Everything will go on the article. But to have an article easy to read and to be displayed in a short space, I will use a video playlist from YouTube, a Soundcloud music player code with the tracks and a small image gallery for the pictures.

The way the article will look will depend on what you submit and how I deal to organise the post. I don’t know yet how it will look but I am sure that with your collaboration it will be nice.

Thank you and I hope to see you on that post.

SIX DEGREES: BACK ISSUES

mar

Hi, I'm Mar, a member of the Fresh On The Net team. I am a biologist, and I work at a research laboratory. I became interested in music as a child and studied Music Theory, Piano and Choral Singing for more than one decade. Although the circumstances steered me into Biology, I have never been cut off from the music. Since always I've had a predilection for Scottish, Irish folk, Breton and Galician music, but I have a large collection of world music. With my trips to Brazil I added from Bossa to Samba, Samba Reggae, Pagode, Sertanejo..., but above all, a wide range of current Brazilian rock musicians, entirely unknown in the international market. Hence, when I returned to Spain, and later moved to Los Angeles (California), I was bored by the monopolized commercial music that was on the radio. This, the gradual disappearance of good record stores and the possibilities offered by the Internet, sparked my curiosity for other forms of music and the independent music media. Following that path I founded “Jungle Indie Rock” with my best friend, a music blog where we have fun and we feature independent bands and artists. I still travel a lot, looking for new sites, sounds and rhythms. I currently live in Madrid and landed here in 2012 at Fresh On The Net :)
