Each week Fresh On The Net invites an artist or band to answer a short series of questions in Prick & Ding: the two and a half minute interview. It's convenient and quick - like enjoying a tasty microwave meal!

Sons Between Guns are a duo from South East London making electronica with a tinge of folk & a splash of indie. To be honest its hard to pin them down to any particular genre and its all the better for that imho. This is music for the soul with sounds for the heart thrown in for good measure.

Sons Between Guns

2012 brought with it their debut E.P. ‘Red 1’ & not surprisingly much support from radio. ‘Galatea’ from ‘Red 1’ appeared on our Fresh Faves 14 in May of last year. They have a great release coming soon in the shape of the ‘Yellow 2’ E.P. The fine lead track ‘The Other Side’ appeared on our Fresh Faves 47 only last week & was a real crowd pleaser with the FOTN readers and I thought it was(is) a lovely track. In reviewing that week’s tracks I described it as having “the restrained elegance of atmospheric folk music inside a magical tinderbox…. to me this is their best work to date – and a sure sign of more good things to come”.

The future has a golden glow for Sons Between Guns if songwriting as promising as ‘The Other Side’ is anything to go by. I fully expect to hear them coming out of radio’s this spring/summer & beyond. Oh, and they were born in a Beach Hut apparently. This is Prick and Ding 39 and here are Son Between Guns.
