Alexis Korner Documentary

Following on from my 2010 post about Alexis Korner’s guitars and amps – and the 50th anniversary of Blues Incorporated at the Ealing Club last year – here’s a BBC Radio 2 documentary that I made about the great man himself in 1999.

The script concludes: Alexis was so much more than the eminence grise who launched a thousand bands or who brought World Music to Radio One. He was a tender and perceptive songwriter and above all a generous and charismatic human being who touched the lives of those around him.

“He was a man, take him for all in all,
I shall not look upon his like again.”
