Fresh Friends This Week

Fresh Friends 22 Nov 2013

A dozen friends of Fresh On The Net – all of whose work we’ve enjoyed here in recent months – sent excellent new tunes to our Listening Post this week.

But if we’d included them on this week’s Listening Post, there’d have been 12 less spaces for other artists who haven’t recently been supported by us – and those people deserve to get heard too.

We’re sure all these Friends Of Freshnet already know how much we – and you – like their music, and you’ll find their latest tracks in the playlist below. We’d urge you to check out further tunes by all of these fine folk by clicking through to their own Soundcloud pages…

Tom Robinson

London-based broadcaster & songwriter, born 1950. His best known songs are 2-4-6-8 Motorway, Glad To Be Gay and War Baby; he has also co-written songs with Peter Gabriel, Elton John, Dan Hartman and Manu Katché. Read More...

Nice idea to have a section for friends of FOTN.

It’s good to not to have to wait 3 months to hear them back on the site.

Whilst ideally we should be following them after liking them on Listening Post (and it’s because I follow @richardsmith that I found this gem of a place) there are some we don’t and this is great reminder of their talent.

  6. Fresh Friends – good idea! and thanks so much for including me Tom – this song was a knee-jerk reaction written, recorded and sent out on remembrance day itself – I played it at the troubadour this week; – Q. exciting to play a song that could challenge the audience a bit with what it was saying – really glad you liked it 🙂
