BBC Introducing Uploader

Many dozens of excellent tunes arrive every week in our inbox here at Fresh On The Net. And every week there are excellent tunes I can’t even consider for my BBC Introducing Mixtape because they haven’t been uploaded to, well… BBC Introducing. Sometimes of course these are by non-UK residents, but usually they’re by British artists who simply didn’t read the instructions.

Since we get sent far more great tunes each week than I can possibly include on my Mixtape on BBC 6 Music, if yours isn’t on the Uploader when we come looking for it, your slot will to some otehr equally deserving track that is. Like it says on our Soundcloud dropbox: “No upload = no airplay“.

Anyway, for your listening enjoyment here are 22 great tunes by UK artists we weren’t able to play recently, listed in alphabetical order:

*PS as we all know, overseas artists are not allowed upload to BBC Introducing unless they give a valid UK postcode. Although you may be shocked to learn that some overseas artists get local record labels, agents, publishers or fans in this country to do so on their behalf. You might be even more horrified to know that we’ve actually featured a number of these on my Introducing Mixtape over the years…
