So I always say we work as part of a music community not a music business, a sharing & caring environment. Our aim on Fresh On The Net being to offer resources, ideas, advice and coverage for independent recording artists.
Well, this week we came across a great music blog working with the self same spirit, offering all sorts of tips and advice for independent musicians and run by Toby Rogers with the strapline HELPING INDEPENDENT ARTISTS GET THEIR MUSIC HEARD.
Worth sharing with you? Too bloody right it is. Well done to Toby for his music blog: the posts are informative, well written, useful, interesting – and, importantly, not too long – and they are all written by the man himself.
Great job Toby, more power to you mate. Go and check out The Toby Rogers blog and let us know what you think(and let Toby know too)
* Oh and by the way you will recognise that’s a photo above of British cycling hero Bradley Wiggins – taken from Toby’s blog. We’ll hopefully update this with a fresh shot of Toby himself when I’ve had the opportunity to ask him for one.
Thanks man. Glad you like it. Pleased to hear I’m writing stuff that’s useful.
Thanks for the intro and link to Toby’s blog. Writing good music and getting it heard must be easier said than done, so it’s good to come across more members of the music community who help new and independent artists reach a wider audience.
Cheers all,its all about sharing the new,we are pleased Fresh On The Net is reaching people and just as pleased to big up Toby for the work he does on a really great blog.
Toby’s article on how new acts should approach music journalists/bloggers is spot on. I wish most bands/artists would read this before submitting music to my website, as i can guarantee i would have given a lot more acts some webspace if they had taken the tips given.
Good work Toby.
PS “When we’re writing on the sly at our office desks we haven’t got time to trawl the Internet for information on your band.” This is something i never do, honest.
