CRISTINA HART – Little Crimes
UK artist Cristina Hart, comes with impressive accolades such as opening for Louis Tomlinson and receiving airplay on Radio 1’s Future Pop and BBC Introducing. Today she arrives at FOTN to unleash her ferocity on Little Crimes.
The track crackles with classic pop rock energy. Great edgy guitar riffs that will make you nostalgic for the early noughties cutting through infectiously. From the first note they get you ready for the anthemic choruses that are at the heart of this song. Hart’s vocals brim with defiance, perfectly matching the song’s message of calling someone out and vowing never to let them back in to her life. Loud, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore this one is 100% classic indie pop rock!

EVA LAYNE AND THE DOLLS – Cry
From Liverpool, this debut single from Eva Layne And The Dolls (out November 28th so a great little exclusive for FOTN!) lands like a dream. Brimming with heartfelt nostalgia all wrapped up in a sleek modern frame. “Cry” sways on a cozy, smooth groove and is dressed in tasteful textures.
You will find yourself getting lost in the 60s-influenced backing vocals that add an angelic lift. Evocative, layered, and confident, the kind of debut single that tell you they already know exactly who they are and where they’re headed!
GEORGE BOOMSMA – You Said
George Boomsma, the Northallerton songwriter described as a “skilled guitarist, distinctive songwriter & a fine singer” by Mark Radcliffe and musically “gorgeous” by Lauren Laverne, pleases with “You Said.” The track is about the quiet tension of an unspoken conversation and is rich with warmth and melancholy.
Sparkling acoustic lines entwine with rich electric strokes and subtle organ glows over a steady drum beat. Complementing the mellow music is the calm, intimate, and precise vocal. The performance is simply a moment. It’s a warm, beautiful track rich in honesty.

KAT KOAN – Tall
Berlin-based artist KAT KOAN, immerses us in the ethereal and cinematic track Tall. This is a layered, inviting soundscape that feels both serene and deeply personal. Taken from her EP The Tides Will Turn, the song reflects on a period of insecurity her teenage daughter experienced, carrying a quiet message of reassurance and self-worth.
The production is airy and expansive, with ambient textures and subtle shifts that evoke some of David Bowie’s more introspective work. Intimate, otherworldly, this is a heartfelt song that lingers long after it ends.

LORD JANE – These Last Few Weeks
LORD JANE, a 5-piece band from Belfast, Northern Ireland, featured on BBC Introducing, rock us with the ever shifting, tense banger “These Last Few Weeks.” The verses are all about the great swinging drum groove and catchy guitar riffs. We are placed in reflection before being catapulted into shoegaze-tinged surges over the chorus.
There is a vivid sense of disorientation, loss and reckoning running through the lyrics. Acting as an apology and reflection on guilt. The track is a powerful slice of alt pop punk.

OLLIE DIXON – Oceans
OLLIE DIXON, featured on BBC Radio Devon, Cornwall, Bristol, and BBC Introducing South West, as well as our very own Fresh On The Net’s Fresh Faves list, closes his new EP Rebirth with this serene track “Oceans.”
The song drifts on ambient waves, with delicate fingerpicked acoustic guitar underpinning haunting, ethereal vocal harmonies. This is gentle, meditative and soothing music that seems perfect for a film score. This is beautifully crafted music that lingers and lifts the spirit long after the last notes fade.

SAER – Cornerstone
From Birmingham, singer-songwriter SAER warms us up with an emotive folk track filled with captivating melodies. The vocal is simply sublime, weaving effortlessly through the warm instrumentation.
With a distinct timbre, he reaches falsetto tones with real grace and ease. The music is magical, rich acoustic fingerpicked acoustic guitar, gentle piano flurries, and swelling, almost brassy, mellow padding layers rousingly that wrap around your ears. This one is simply pure magic!

SCOTT IS OKAY – The Reset Button
SCOTT IS OKAY, from somewhere on planet earth, is the inventive artist behind The Reset Button. This one opens with a descending, weaving piano motif that threads through the entire song. Urgent yet playful this song has it all!
The vocals tumble out in rapid, off-kilter bursts, weaving around the piano in a way that feels effortless despite the density of words. Drums and subtle rhythmic cues anchor the ear worn chaos. This is definitely a banger that will please fans of The Chemical Brothers to Beck.
THE QUIET ONE – True Love
Aberdeen singer-songwriter Amber Wilson, AKA The Quiet One, immerses us in a lush atmosphere with True Love. The song honours her late mother and releases on what would’ve been her birthday.
The heartfelt dream-pop track glows in the soft wash of synths. The texture is subtle but also complex, slowly evolving and evaporating reflectively. I especially love the meditative birdsong tucked into the mix and the steady, warm acoustic guitar which is rich but brittle at the same time.

WOODSHED COLLECTIVE – Why Bittersweet?
Manchester-based Woodshed Collective craft a breezy, cinematic mood on Why Bittersweet? I wish I knew more about Jazz to give this song the words it deserves. It is led by a warm, expressive saxophone that makes me think of Sonny Rollins and punctuated with staccato piano and gentle brush drums.
The wandering bass is a delight to listen to giving an upbeat, sophisticated flow underneath. There is no doubt that this is effortlessly stylish.

PS from Del: If you’ve submitted a track that hasn’t been picked for the Listening Post, our team has definitely listened to it and there’s no need to send it again: feel free to send us an even stronger track another week. The same goes if you were picked for the Listening Post but didn’t feature in our Fresh Faves.
But if we’ve recently featured you in our Fresh Faves – please wait three months before sending us another track, so we have space to help other deserving artists… For more info see Robinson Has A Good Old Moan.
