Eclectic Picks: Batch 517

Every week Signal Committee present an Eclectic Picks playlist. All tracks are selected from the full inbox of 200 tracks that are submitted each week to Fresh On The Net.

WHAT DO WE LOOK FOR?

Our playlists are orientated to the alternative music fan. Lyrics are not essential, abstract ideas are embraced and the fusing of different genres is encouraged. If you used to write band names on your pencil case at school, you’ll probably like our playlists.

INTRODUCING SANJA CIN

Sanja Cin caught our ears a while back with a beautifully mellow track, Hollywood. With roots in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a small Austrian town and Vienna… she has eventually landed in Manchester – and now she is the special guest curator for the Eclectic Picks. Are her picks in keeping with her own chilled out vibe? Find out below…

A FEW WORDS FROM SANJACIN

Being an Eclectic Picker the first time, it was fun keeping my ears open while listening through so much interesting music this week. interesting in terms of variety of styles and production. from very intimate recordings, very DIY vibes to very radio edits versions, I enjoyed being surprised song by song. Those that I picked here are based on momentaneous sound needs, meaning that they gave me some sort of comfort, or a little wake up punch. Thanks a lot, dear music makers.

STEP 2 – SPREAD THE WORD

Do you ever think, or hear people say, “there’s no good music any more”? Maybe they aren’t looking in the right places. Prove them wrong:

  • Subscribe to the playlist

Music is great. Music videos are better. Keep the momentum going, send any music videos our way and, if we’re in a good mood, we’ll add the best ones to our music video playlist here.

RADIO OPPORTUNITIES

We all have ambitions to get on national radio, but in the meantime there are loads of great, independent radio stations that are always looking for new music of the alternative variety. They offer no promises, but the following hosts tell me they that, if you made this list, they’d like you to get in touch to be considered for their show:

If you are are radio presenter/DJ and want to be added to the list above, just give Signal Committee a shout!

Eclectic Picks

The Eclectic Picks is curated by an autonomous collective comprising of Arpraxis, Dirty Freud, Michael Donoghue, Signal Committee, Will Farr and special guests.

    Hi Guys,
I accidentally submitted the wrong version of a track! Idiot that I am I sent the unfinished version so…..I have just resubmitted the same song but…the correct version.
It’s called She Looked At Me by Mike Hebden and the correct track for your listening ears is under today’s date, 14.2.24. Happy Valentines Day! (actually it is about a brief romance come to think of it)
    Sorry for the cock up!
    have a good day.
    Mike

  3. Hi Mike,

Just resubmit the track next week – as long it isn’t a track that has been submitted previously (or a remix/alternative version of one).

    cheers
    Nick

    Hi Parky,
I have already sent the completed version which means you will have 2 tracks with the same name. Hope this is ok?
    Thanks,
    Mike
