Sheena Cameron

Unlike my namesake in that Ramones song, I was too young to be a punk rocker, but I embraced post-punk in my teens. With no musical talent beyond a good ear, I became an avid fan, especially of new, local and indie music—contributing to fanzines, pestering emerging bands for news, and attending gigs. I studied popular culture at university, and there is still an unwritten blog in me about pop and rock on screen. These were passions I held onto while life steered me towards a career in NHS administration.

I was a regular voter on the Listening Post before Del invited me onto the moderating team, and I’m finally fulfilling those early ambitions to actively support new music. It’s never too late—maybe I’ll write that blog and pick up a guitar!
